Vickie Bailey Ebbers paints in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor and has won awards in all of these categories. Her range of subjects includes figurative work, still life and landscape.
Ebbers’ favorite is working with the nude form. “With endless possibilities in terms of composition and expression the figure remains the subject of choice by artists since antiquity. My objective is not to reproduce an image of the human body but to capture the model’s state of feeling and to evoke an emotion in the viewer.”
Ebbers, a native of Lancaster, South Carolina now resides on Hilton Head Island. Having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Winthrop University, she furthered her education in New York at Parsons School of Design. Her affiliations include the Beaufort Art Association, Society of Bluffton Artists, Art League of Hilton Head, Georgia Watercolor Society, Southeastern Pastel Society, Southern Watercolor Society and the South Carolina Watercolor Society. Ebbers’ work can be found at Camellia Art Gallery, Art League of Hilton Head, Maye River Gallery, and Society of Bluffton Artists.
